This guideline from the Superintendent of Insurance about Diagnostic and Treatment Protocol Regulation interpretative guidelines is intended for Alberta adjusters.

The Superintendent of Insurance has published an updated DTPR Guideline. This is relevant to those adjusters who handle automobile insurance Accident Benefits claims.

The DTPR Guideline was first developed in conjunction with major Alberta automobile insurance reforms in 2004, to provide information for injured motorists, insurers, lawyers, and primary health care practitioners (physicians, chiropractors, and physical therapists) regarding the application of the DTPR, as well as claims and billing processes for claimants treated under the DTPR. The DTPR has now been significantly revised, and Accident Benefits claims handlers are encouraged to review this revised Guideline in its entirety.
