Refund policy

Requests for refunds are handled on a case by case basis. If applicable, you may request a refund by contacting either office of the Alberta Insurance Council.

Note: AIC will not provide refunds directly to credit cards.

Administration fee assessed by AIC

AIC assesses a $50 administration fee for the following:

  • Cheque or credit card payments returned by financial institutions for insufficient funds
  • Stop payments on cheques or credit card transactions
  • Requests to reissue cheques that have become stale-dated
  • Requests to replace lost or misplaced cheques
  • Requests to reissue cheques to a different payee
